You all are blaming me for no reason.. We don't get new machines here. We use to sell Refurbished machine that were previously used in USA. All our customers are aware that they are refurbished and we tell them too as its not available here. But sometimes on customer's demand we reset counters to 0.
Thanx.
I understand why you are doing it. It is illegal here and maybe that is why so many people posted. I have been doing this 30 years and had my first boss ask me to do this. The only way then was to replace the mechanical counter (Minolta). (We would not do it for him). I think the counter boards are attached to the serial number so maybe only canon could replace them here. It may even be illegal for someone to tell you how to do it.
Counter set to zero means "unused" in any language and in every country. Refurbished machines are NOT. The board containing the counter is NOT. Resetting the counter is lying any way you turn and any way you try to explain it...

I believe it can be done. I've heard of companies doing it and have seen machines that look old with next to nothing on the meter. I don't know the procedure nor would I ever want to know but it can be done. They got into the San Bernadino IPhone didn't they
But the question was not 'Can it ben done...?"
I have no doubt it can be done, more difficult things have been done, like sending people to the moon.
The question was if we could/would help doing so. And that answer seems to be pretty unanimous "No"
