Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
Thanks for your help chaps. I will still unable to get it going and due to internal pressure at work we got an engineer in to take a look (well, remotely).
He did 3 things:
- Change the time as it was 2 mins out (behind). He said years back he had a machine that failed when the time was incorrect.
- Add email address back into the field below SMTP server (as you guys suggested)
- He verified the Send settings but via the machine (remote operation viewer) not the web interface.
Following these, the machine is now sending emails! I cannot believe it. I thought the time thing doesn't seem right, so I changed it back and it still works. I've not yet removed the email address from the field below SMTP server however I have previously had the email in there and it didn't work. So it seems to be some sort of a difference with doing it via the web admin or on the machine itself!
