Angry Need the DR-1100 drunification tool password and help!!

I am not a canon scanner guy by any means. The issue the customer is having, when the scanner is set to "auto detect" The machine will put a black edge, on the left hand side. It is very distinct, blackout, not a shadow but completely straight line blackout.. Not the lead or trail edge, if you are looking at the machine, the left hand side. If you choose the correct size, "letter" it will shift the image in the same direction(shifts the image to the right, as you are looking at the machine) . Does it on 1 and 2 sided, and different programs. I have been looking though the manual and it looks like there is a registration adjustment, as it looks to me that the machine is not detecting the correct scan size. I downloaded the unification tool, but I need a password. Any help would be appreciated!

    Charm,

Thank you for your well thought out answer. But, If you would've read My post you would have noticed I said "I have been looking though the manual." Obviously my resources are greater than yours as I did not have to get "training" to get that far. Thanks again for your lackluster answer.

    u should watch your thoughts
this is a support community / not a vent community

    password is “market” (without quotes)

Note: Make sure to also install the driver for this machine in the computer for servicing.
This is required as the service tool does not have a function for detecting
    with the scanner.

A black band is shown in the border of the front side image.

In this case, it was caused by a dirty Platen Roller.
Make sure that you thoroughly clean the Platen Rollers even if they appear to look clean.
The Roller should be periodically cleaned with a damp lint free cloth to keep it clean.

    Teckat,

Thanks for your response. That is all I needed, as I think an adjust all will fix this issue. All I wanted was some input, I don't need someone telling me I need to get trained. Thanks for your help

I will remember that the next time you need assistance on something techman, and no, your resources are not greater than mine.

and just for clarification, I was not referring that you need training Captain O. In the manual if you would have read it. There is a test mode, and the password for that when using the unification tool is 'training'

Oh and who do you work for in the STL out of curiousity?

    Charm,

After reading your post again, I owe you an apology. I read your response out of context, my mistake. You were just trying to help, and I responded out of frustration, and presumption. Thanks for your input.
