The following changes occur when upgrading the HDD of the imageRUNNER 3225/ 3230/ 3235/ 3245 copiers from v02.11 to v02.12:
Description; An additional Hard Disk Drive has been added.

    [Service mode] Options have been given whether to use or not to use a specific SSL algorithm among the followings from the service mode: - SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA - SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_MD5 - SSL_RSA_EXPORT_WITH_RC4_40_MD5 - SSL_RSA_EXPORT_WITH_RC2_CBC_40_MD5 - SSL_RSA_EXPORT_WITH_DES40_CBC_SHA - SSL_RSA_WITH_DES_CBC_SHA Service mode (LV2): >COPIER >OPTION >BODY >SSLSTRNG 0: Use CipherSuites (default)
    1: Do not use CipherSuites
2 [Measure to prevent a field claim] Modification to prevent an exception on MEAP where it is generated after reading a certificate that contains an incorrect URL.

Measures against IPX/SPX activation delay: Regardless of network protocol, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX could be used simultaneously on conventional models. However, on this model, IPX/SPX activates approx. 90 seconds later than TCP/IP. 2 Effects of Spanning Tree-support Hub: If the network is set as a loop, data keeps staying in this loop and efficiency of data transfer might be decreased. In order to prevent this symptom, some hubs have the function called "spanning tree". If this function is enabled, the device newly connected to the hub can make data communication with network 10 to 50 seconds (time changes due to the conditions) after the connection.
When the machine enters 1W Sleep mode and restores from the Sleep mode, the device electrically disconnects with the network once. Therefore, if the machine connects with the spanning tree-installed hub, the machine cannot communicate with the network for approximately 1 minute at a maximum after restoring from 1W Sleep mode. For this reason, right after restoring from the 1W Sleep mode, the following symptoms may occur: Device status cannot be collected, printing cannot be made, and login using a login application cannot be made. If such symptoms become a problem, perform the following operations. -
Using Additional Functions, set not to enter the 1W Sleep mode. Common Settings > Energy Consumption in Sleep Mode > High - Disable the spanning tree function of hub. - Request users to use the hub which supports Rapid Spanning-Tree Protocol (RSTP) that resolves such problems.

Steps need to be followed, if the HDD was formatted with an older version of the SST.

***If after formatting the HDD, the machine constantly reboots and Download Mode is not accessible.
    See below**********

****If a HDD was formatted with an older version of the SST, a new drive will need to be installed. In some cases, the Main Controller may have to be sent to an APRF facility to be reset.

    Note:1
****ONLY USE SERVICE SUPPORT TOOL VERSION 4.04_ or newer.
Delete any earlier versions of the SST from the laptop and install version 4.04Eq.or newer. Version 4.04Eq and newer will not allow formatting of the HDD, bsecause this model does not support formatting of the drive.

    Note:2
Only Canon HDD are supported, because the drives come pre loaded with the BIOS Software to boot the machine
