    canon c2030 bad copy quality

third party customer bought a 2030. the colors were faded. they demanded a second machine since i could not resolve the color issue. again not my machine. they replaced the bad machine with another that looks like its been in a warehouse for months. i think the company just threw new drums in it and delivered then left. they have almost the exact color issue as the old one. i checked and yes the drums are new, i pulled the laser, did the auto gradation adjustments, but have the same crappy color. after cleaning the laser there was a improvement in the copy quality but not much. any help would be great thanks. im going to upload the latest firmware if it is a older version. ran the pg10 with the cover off, the colors look just as bad on the ITB. switched ITB same result, changed transfer roller on door same result, recleaned the laser unit same result. I did the MCON/DCON clear no change. Im at a complete loss any ideas where to go next?

Did you take the laser unit out and clean it or clean the laser glass with the Rod?

Replace the right door assembly .
The part number for the right door assembly is FM3-8036-030.

You pulled the laser out but did you actually clean INSIDE the unit?

Re: canon c2030 bad copy quality

Can you post a picture of the PG10.
The reason I'm asking is because on the 2 pages you show in the PDF the one at the top appears to be black tint that has some white lines in the second one is a different colour with blue and red lines in it, but there are no corresponding lines on the the two (i.e the lines in the top are not reproduced on the second page and visa versa)

If we assume that it is a fault common to all colors then we are on with:-
Laser unit (clean both inside and out)
    ITB belt
    2nd transfer
    boards and cables

Also (might seem like a stupid question but it is a print that you have posted or a photocopy, many times i've had customers complain about quality of prints and upon arrival found that the image quality issue they are complaining about is due to the fact it is on the original. (I know it might sound like I'm treating you like an newbie but best to check before spending money on parts that are not required)

Who in their right mind would take the time to pull a laser unit and not clean the inside? i have met some lazy techs but it isn't even a 20 minute job to pull and properly clean those laser units.
