Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2220L: Can not see the network

Failure to update the firmware.
Printer firmware downloaded from the network. After restarting the network disappeared.
SST (there v4.52Ec) can not see the printer.

Ok, looks, like you managed to make a USB Stick with the aid of the Service Tool, so far, so good. Now try the following: Shut the Maschine down, insert the USB Stick into a free Slot (right side of the Keyboard, if I remember correctly), power the machine up while holding "2 and 8" simultaniously. This should bring you up into save mode and the Led on the USB Stick should begin to flicker, showing you, that the Controller is verifying the Firmware on the Stick. Then a multiple choice Menue should appear. I would suggest first format HDD, then upgrade(auto) because of former mishappend update. Adress Book Data will be lost, but I think, this will be the minor Problem.

If u can't flash with USB, May be a Main Pcb 1 issue.

Hard Disk Drive Standard 160 GB Hard Disk Drive (usable space 80 GB)(iR-ADV C2220i/2225i/2230i only)

C2220L No HDD = Flash Model-----------------The 4GB flash memory is used. All the data of the system/image/other data is stored in theflash memory.
The iR-ADV C2200 series has the flash memory model and the HDD model respectively.
To upgrade a flash memory model to a HDD model, the license registration is required in
addition to physical installation. (not available in Europe)

CAUTION:
This machine does not communicate with SST once it recognizes a USB memory
storage device. Therefore, SST and a USB memory device cannot be used at the same

time.

Procedure
1) Remove the network cable if any network cable is connected to this machine.
2) Turn ON the power of the machine and enter download mode from the service mode.
Select the following in service mode: COPIER > FUNCTION > SYSTEM > DOWNLOAD; and
click [OK].

CAUTION:
Depending on the manufacturer or the model, this machine may fail to recognize the
USB memory storage device.

This machine retries recognition of a USB memory storage device for up to 60 seconds
after power-ON. The above menu is not displayed if the machine fails to recognize a
USB memory storage device within the time period.
In such a case, use another USB memory storage device.

Downloading System Software
[1]: Select Version
To select system software (to be downloaded after the selection)
[4]: Clear/Format
To delete or format all the data in the FLASH PCB/HDD
[5]: Backup/Restore
To backup or restore the data in SRAM
[Reset]: Shutdown
To execute shutdown sequence
Press the key on the control panel to select or execute the functions.



Memory Stick can only have ONE VERSION of C2220L on it

Need firmware for imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2220L.

All the IRAC22xx firmware is the same including your L version.

You know that you can update your firmware via service mode automatically (assuming your irac2220l is set up correctly on a network)

Simply enter service mode & from the first screen choose update then follow the instructions.

ADVANCE C2230/ C2225 by ways of the internet.
SERVICE MODE > UPDATER > UPDATE FIRMWARE > CONFIRM APPLICABLE FIRMWARE

Service Support Tool: (Start Assist Mode)
To upgrade the System Software other than the use of CDS, the “Start Assist Mode” button is
recommended to perform a full upgrade with the use of the Service Support Tool v4.33Ez or higher.

USB Flash Drive:
Flashing the System Software by use of a USB Flash Drive is supported.

Due to a New Type Main Controller PCB 1, it is not recommended to downgrade the System Software to
v37.01.01 or earlier. Doing so will hinder network capabilities. Please read how to distinguish between

Network related parts used in the Main Controller PCB assembly (1) have been changed due to parts supply reasons.

firmware MN-CONT Ver.40.01 and later for a machine with which the PCB is equipped.
If an old version of system software MN-CONT Ver.37.01 or earlier is installed in a machine in which a new type Main Controller PCB assembly (1) is installed,
the network functions are unavailable.
The current Main Controller PCB assembly (1) (FMx-xxxx) will continue to be supplied as a service part. [* Refer to 1]

[How to distinguish between the old and new Main Controller PCB assembly (1)]
The old and new Main Controller PCB assembly (1) can be distinguished as follows:
1. Press the Counter Check Key on the LUI to check the Main Board Version on the
Check Device Configuration Screen.

For new type: "9 and later"
2. Check the part number label attached to the Main Controller PCB assembly (1).
For new type: FM0-0311 (001) is printed.
For new type: FM0-xxxx (001) is printed.
Example: FM0-0311(001)
(001) is printed on the new type, whereas (001) is not printed on the current type.
In addition, printing of the part number varies depending on the type (model) of the board.
