Canon IR Adv C7055 endless reboot sequence

Hi lads,

we have a Canon ImageRunner Advance c7055 here. It was in storage for a long time and now we wanted to fire it up for a customer.
The problem is that it comes up to a stage, where it brings the "Starting. Please wait a moment..." picture on the screen up, and when the indicator reaches the ca. 75% mark it restarts itself.
Than again, gets to the boot screen....75%...restart.

I changed the HDD, reloaded a new firmware on it, I even tried a HDD from a different 7055 (just for curiosity). I also removed the main controller, the memory dimms to see if they had a contact problem (the machine travelled a lot on road before we got it). Removed fuser, changed drums, disconnected adf, checked all visible cable connections.

Did anyone get the same problem before? Any hints what else should i try (apart from raindance and curseing the machine )?

Any _real_ help would be appreciated.

1.- Confirm the power from the outlet is correct. 120 volts AC between hot and neutral. 1 volt AC or less between neutral and ground.
2.- Disconnect as many accessories from the machine as possible such as finishers, paper deck, cassette feeding units and fax options.

did u swap the main controller 1 to check or just check it's connections ???

It has been found that fax options have been the cause of many rebooting issues.
remove -- disconnect fax if installed====re-start




make sure LED's 1, 4, 9 and 16 are lit on Main Controller 1 and 2

when u eventually get printer up---
go into Settings & Registration
> Preferences > Network > TCP/IP Settings > Multicast Discovery Setting > set to
OFF.
