    Sending Attachments

One of our customers upgraded from an IR3025 to an Adv4045. They took all the SMTP information from the older Canon for Sending via Email but for some reason it gives an error saying can't send attachment? Is there something we are missing that needs to be done on the Advance that we didn't see on the older model. Their IT people are asking for our help and I'm not very knowledgeable in this area.

Are you using the previous machines IP address on the new copier?
If not they may need to configure the mail server to allow email from the new IP

I've seen this before too. On one location the MFP had to authenticate with the SMTP server before it could communicate, even if the settings are perfect. I think it's called a white list. Essentially the SMTP checks against a list of acceptable users. It's not something you'll get access to, and local IT should certainly know about it if it's used on their system.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
