    Question canon imageclass d680

scanner does not move most times -- when it does try it jitters slightly. seems to cycle normally -- no error codes on lcd. Can print from computer or print out a "user data list".

does not throw any errors but when trying to make a copy an audio alarm plays.

Any help, tips, advice would be GREATLY appreciated

New to this field so please be gentle

I got a tip that a good percentage of this type of problems is a bad ribbon cable. I replaced that and the scanner finally moved.......however, I still couldn't copy -- replaced the scanner assembly and it worked like a charm

My opinion on these types of Canons is low -- but as I stated before, I'm relatively new to the field and the upside to this project is that I'm now very efficient at stripping down this particular model down to the bare bones.

I think perhaps over half of the weight of this machine is from the screws alone.
