Found this tech pub. Other discussions pointed towards the toner sensor.

previously the error E000024-0001 immediately appeared after 1st print
i cleared the error from service menu (by pressing aditional function > 2+8> function>clear>err) and restarted the machine
again after printing 1st copy it gives the same error
i'v emptied the developer unit with removing all tonner, removed the sensor, wiped with dry cloth, reassembled it,
tried to install tonner by service menu (by pressing aditional function > 2+8> function>install>tonner)
but it says NG (i guess NOT GOOD)
even after i try after clearing the error it .....
again after printing 1st copy it gives the same error
now friends
a new error immediately after machine is restarted
E000024-0000
i'm completely depressed
what should i do to correct it and make the machine working
First: Did you use Genuine Toner ?
I fix this error many times. I mill/rasp the sensor mounting area on the developing assembly (remove the "ring" and the srew-holes)Unbenannt.jpg
when I do this the sensor goes furhter into the dev. assembly.
You can do this or buy the new model FM2-0287-000
i used the same toner that i'm using since 7years,
same brand, same vendor to the machine.
yes.. its not genuine canon
but i never faced this kind of error since my purchase of the machine till date.

PROBLEM SOLVED
i found two wires which are connected to toner sensor on the developing unit were broken, i had to trace it by checking the wiring diagram, because all the wires are YELLOW colored,
changed all the five wires with new.
problem solved.
