Have you tried the pcl driver?

Re: Canon IR C5030i Gray veil around letters

    HI
    maybe it helps,

    irac9000-026.pdf

I had the same problem(only on prints not copies) a year ago on a Canon IR C2025, 3 weeks after I replace the black drum.I replace fuser, make an upgrade on the latest firmware etc.
Only a new drum resolve the problem and until today no further problems.

I have renewed the drum. The delivery takes so long (1 week). But the problem is the same as before.

SIMPLY MORE THAN LIKELY!!! :: Re: Canon IR C5030i Gray veil around letters

Are the "black" letters process black (CMY) or black (K) only???

If it is process black, you are more likely to get this "hazing" or stray of toner dust during registration.

    ALSO:

Is the text "true" text, which would print sharp, black only text....or is it text that has been turned into a rasterized graphic???

If it is a rasterized graphic, sometimes the "white" around the letters will tend to haze, especially if the compression settings of the file were set to low and the dpi is also low, thus a bit of pixellation!

PS--don't be afraid to get your loupe out and look closer!

The text is Black only. It is printed sharp. When I Print in graphic Mode the letters where in CMY. But all the text has no shadow. When the text is printed in one color, C M or Y there is also no shadow. Only When black text is printed there is a shadow behind the letters. I don't know who I have to look to solve this Problem.

Install ColorPic software on the users computer to hover over the pixels and see what the EXACT color space is on the Text!

    ColorPic, The Desktop ColorPicker Software

PS--by the way, what is the file format of this graphic/document? I'd be interested to see the "unadulterated" file personally!

    Hello,
In the appendix the doc file, the original document. And a picture with ColorPic on the letters. Printed and edited with Word 2016.

    Best regards

Hi, and Thank-You for the Document!

I viewed the document with ColorPic and it looks ok!....I also printed it out on a Savin C5050 (Ricoh) and everything appeared ok! The only object that appears to be a graphic, is the logo in the upper right hand corner...the anti-aliasing of the text in that graph is a little bit jaggy, possibly due to a lower resolution! Is this complete document before being sent to print is it being rasterized by the print driver?...if so, that might explain the "halo" effect artifacting! Does it happen only from this one computer?...or does it happen from other computers?...and were you able to see with magnification on the actual paper if the text is truly black or process black?....sometimes you can look at an angle to the paper and see if the text is raised up slightly, which would indicate a process black! Keep me posted!

The effect occurs from all computers. It is also under magnification pure black, it is not composed of CMY. Also, the print is not raised up.
