Canon Laserclass 710 "incorrect paper size"

I'm a Ricoh guy but a customer of mine has this machine. It keeps telling them the incorrect paper size error. They have 2 trays both with letter size. I beleive that there may be an incoming fax that bis not letter size. What I cannot figure out is how do I change the paper tray size or find and delete the troublesome file.
    Any help is appreciated.

    See -------'Incorrect Paper Size'

    LaserCLASS 710 / 720i / 730i

    'Incorrect Paper Size'

'Incorrect Paper Size' error message is displayed during printing. This will occur when the 'paper size' vs 'travel -time' do not correspond. This may be caused by the following conditions:
    1. The gap between the upper and lower metal plates of the Registration Roller Assembly, is too wide.
    2. The TOP sensor actuator is worn, or the sensor is faulty.

    1. Remove the FX7 cartridge and locate the Registration Roller Assembly in the space below.

2 . Carefully, press the 'middle' of the upper metal plate untill it touches the lower metal plate.

    3. Check for normal printing.

    4. If the error still occurs, check/replace the TOP sensor actuator and/or sensor.

Do you happen to have a part # for the actuator?

A quick fix is to slide a piece of small shrink tube over the actuator and heat it up with soldering gun and make it about 1/8 inch longer.

Thank you for all the information, now that I have the part can you tell me if there is an easier way to replace it. From what I see the machine needs to be disassembled to get the bottom plate off to get to the sensor. It looks as though the sensor arm snaps into the frame but I do not want to pull it out and break it if not. I used the heat shrink trick and it is working for now but I do want to replace the sensor and actuator.

I have the manual and it is not really clear, that is why I was hoping someone could just explain it .
    Thanks for the manual though.
