Canon IRADV C5250 TLS Office 365

A customer is trying to set up Office 365 and the question came up about TLS. I saw one post on here from teckat that said all Imagerunner Advance models support TLS. On the instructions for setting up 365 it says to select in email settings allow TLS.
I do not see that choice available in the settings. SSL yes but not TLS. Is this possibly a software update issue for an older
machine? Will Office 365 work without TLS?

If you just set it up on port 587 it will work.

    Okay
Thanks! Yesterday I set the port to 587 but it kept giving a #802 error. Which has to do with

communications with the server. I did read somewhere online that when you first start up with

365 you have to change the password. I will recommend that to their IT person.

With various software versions for all imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices released in the September / October 2015 time frame, there is supposed to be a method of disabling SSL 3.0 in service mode for those situations whereby a customer has inquired of a security concern. After upgrading the device, there seems to be no additional options anywhere regarding changing SSL levels. How is this accomplished?

    Answer :
Provided that the software has been upgraded to anything that has been released on or after the September / October 2015 time frame, SSL may be altered using Service Mode. In order to make the change, execute the following.

    Service Mode Level 2 > Copier > Option > Network > SSL3.0

This is set to "1" by default which enables SSL 3.0. Setting this value to "0" will disable. Once this has been set to "0", communication will revert to the TLS 1.0 standard.
