    Jamming iRC5235

    Good day

I need some advise on a problem we are facing with an iRC5235?

We are experiencing a jam in the inner finisher. The jam code is 1400, indicating the door switch. We have replaced the door switch but to no avail. We have also change paper sensors and upper and lower home position sensors.

Have you encountered such a problem before and if so do you have any advice on the possible solution?

    Kind Regards

    Hi there,

I have not had this problem but would suggest you recheck the plugs to ensure you have not missed one out on the right hand side of the board thats hidden.

Other than that I would change the board.

    Hope that helps.

I had this type off jam on a ir3045 which plagued me for a bit. Check your connection to the door switch. Try pushing on cover that you suspect is the cover/door switch with the error while it is printing. I had to adjust the mechanical connection with the door interlock.

    Good luck!

I looked at the canon website and two posts said to check the upper tray if you have two trays (safety sw on top). You could remove it to check it if it happens a lot. Another post suggested a circuit board if it is at power on.

I once had the upper tray issue mentioned above. I used a screwdriver to press down on the switch and the machine was able to re-position the upper tray.

I also had a problem with a machine in which the photo sensor for the main door failed (the one that covers the ITB and developing unit). That also gave a door open error. Super easy to replace that photo sensor so be sure to check it.

Do you have proper voltage at the door switch? This is the first step. I'm not near manual...could be 24v is missing. Power supply on machine...maybe accessories PS. Verify the power to the switch before you do anything else
