    Adv4045 E248-0001

I have a customer that bought an Adv4045 about 6 months ago and is having E248-0001 error. Service manual says CCD unit or flexible cable, we reseated cable about 2 weeks ago and it started working again, but now it won't clear. Is this common on this model? I'm trying to sell them a 2nd unit for their other office but they are a little hesitant now. Is this likely to be the cable or the CCD unit in your experience?

They also have numerous jam codes 0D91, the paper size in jam history says J-B4.....what is that? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4025 / 4035 / 4045 / 4051 / 4225 / 4235 / 4245 / 4251

    E248-0001 Error Code

    Error code E248-0001 keeps occurring.
The description for E248-0001 is a EEPROM error for the CCD unit.

The following was attempted to correct the problem:

Software for the machine was re-flashed.

Then the ribbon cable for the CCD unit was replaced, followed by replacing the CCD unit.

Then the Reader Controller PCB was replaced.

    The following was observed:
In service mode Level 1 > Copier > Adjust > CCD a lot of values for the CCD were at 0.
Once Service Mode values for the CCD were re-entered in service mode the machine would operate fine for the rest of the day.
The next day when the machine was turned back on, the error code E248 would occur again.
Again in Service Mode, a lot of values for CCD were back to 0.

    Solution :

Replacement of Main Controller 2 PCB resolved the error code problem.

FM4-7909-000 is the part number for Main Controller 2 PCB used for the iR ADVANCE 4025.
FM4-7908-000 is the part number for Main Controller 2 PCB used for the iR ADVANCE 4035 / 4045 / 4051.
FM1-E356-000 is the part number for Main Controller 2 PCB used for the iR ADVANCE 4225.
FM1-E355-000 is the part number for Main Controller 2 PCB used for the iR ADVANCE 4235 / 4245 / 4251.

I have the P-Print from this copier and it does show alot of zeros under CCD. I compared with 2 other Adv4045 p prints, which don't have any zeros. My question now is, how do I know what values to enter to test this theory (to see if it works until power on next day). The service manual shows the default values to be 0.
