    advanced 5045 skew

I have a Canon ir 5045 that skews from all paper sources when copying or printing. couldnt find anything in the service manual for skews from cassette or image formation, ie lasers. since the skew is identical from all sources i think it has to do with lasers any suggestions. Thanks

I personally doubt if its laser...two separate lasers in this product and odds of 2 going bad...unlikely. Check the registration area...common to all paper trays.

Do an A3 test chart I think 5 or 6 grid and jam the machine by opening the door and check image on the belt.
also try each colour individually if you have not done that and see if it is just one colour?

if you jam and the image on the belt is ok then not lasers if not ok then possibly try swapping transfer belt, i agree with canuck, unlikely both lasers are screwed but could go deeper and be some form of laser control thing but not had it personally.

just some ideas to look at.
