Canon IRAC5235i Graining / Feint Prints and copies

Hi Guys,

Need some ideas.....

I have a Canon IRAC5235i that has a lot of gaining on the page, much like what it looks like when your developer is shot....(white dots everywhere)

I have attached a sample of what is happening, there first picture (PG10) is a sample of the fault, the second is a Sample (PG10) of what it should look like.

Seeing as it looked like Dev we went with that first, we have since replaced all four Devs, all four Drum units, and have not managed to improve the image.(Maybe a slight difference but not enough to resolve the issue).

We have then replaced the complete ITB Assy, assuming it my be the primary transfer rollers, and no difference either.

Replaced so far...

ITB Assy
Dev Units x 4
Drum Units x 4
2nd Transfer Roller

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated......thanks.....

HI.maybe you can check this
Secondary Transfer Outer Roller
Since the resistance of a paper changes when the recycled paper having bad surface nature
is used under the high temperature and high humidity environment, the current value of the
Secondary Transfer may be insufficient. As a result, the blank area caused by Secondary
Transfer failure may occur.
[Occurrence condition]
In case that the recycled paper having bad surface nature is used under the high temperature
and high humidity environment.
This phenomenon will be more obvious when a blue solid image is copied.
[Remedy]
Please perform the following steps.
1) Check environmental classification inside the machine.
Indication of inside environmental classification (COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC>ENV-TR)
<Level1>
2) Check the "paper type" when the poor image occurred. (Example: Plain paper 1)
3) Check the "printing surface" which the poor image occurred. (Example: In the case of a first
side)
4) Perform adjustment of secondary transcription ATVC target current (COPIER>ADJUST>H
VTR>XXXX).
Set the setting value of the applicable service mode to "+10" after checking the sub-item
name corresponding to XXXX from the following table. If not improved, please increase the
setting value by +10 each.
(Example: When the paper type is the plain paper 1, environmental classification is 1 and it is
on a first side, COPIER>ADJUST>HVTR>2TR-N1)
[Notes about remedy]
If the service mode is changed, the life of the Secondary Transfer Outer Roller will be
influenced.
For this reason, do not set the setting value to +80 or more at the maximum.

--Stop an image of a pg 10 on the ITB belt.

--Is image good on the belt.

if good-----Check secondary transfer roller bias contacts-----clean if necessary

The post of stopping the machine while making a copy of test chart 10 and look at image on belt was a very good idea. If you have the same issue on the belt you may want to try the high voltage unit. The second transfer roller assembly is easy to swap also. There was a kit for the spots but since you swapped ITB assembly it probably is not the charge rollers. Another easy thing to try is to push on the right side door when making test chart.
