    Question IRC2880 HDD Change

    Hi guys,

I have an irc2880 and the hard drive has about 9 years running.
I'm afraid it will break down, how can I change it before?
    Regards

    Stéf

I wouldn't worry about it unless you can hear it clicking or have had E602 errors. HDD's can go on & on for many years.

However if you do want to replace it you will need to order it from Canon for £100's or a cheaper option is to buy an identical model from say eBay, you'll then need the system software etc to reinstall the drive.

You could also "clone" the drive to another new hdd if you have the software/knowledge.

This is a bit like replacing the gearbox on your car even when its running fine!

That's the answer I was waiting for. Thank you.
I will clone the HDD now and keep an ISO.
I was afraid it would not be possible. I think I have an old hard drive in my stock. Do I have a hdd of the same size and brand? Or can it be different and bigger?
    Thanks again

Yes you can use any size & model if you are cloning the drive.
