Question :
How do you display total results in Accounting Manager for MEAP's web interface?
Can this also be performed in the Data Collecting Application?
Answer :
You can display a total of the jobs performed on the MEAP device in the Accounting Manager for MEAP's servlet (web interface). The total results can be displayed according to job type (copy, print, etc) and units (department ID or user name). You can also export the total results.
The following two types of job total results can be displayed:
1. Total Results up to Now - The total results from the last time you reset the total results to the present time is displayed.
2. Scheduled Total Results - The results of scheduled totals are displayed. The Scheduled Total function enables you to calculate the total jobs from the last time you reset the total results to the specified day.
If there are no results for a scheduled total, the date for [Scheduled Total Results] is shown as hyphens (-).
To Display (Calculate) the Total Results:
1. Select your desired options (Time Frame, Job Type, Color Mode, and Units).
2. Click the [Display Total Results] button.
3. Click [Total Details] to re-select your desired options. Click [Export] to export the total results to a CSV file.
Important:
- If you select 'User Name' for the units, print jobs from the print driver are calculated according to Windows login name. Also, if you are using SDL or SSO, copy jobs are calculated according to SDL or SSO user name. If you select 'Department ID' for the units, jobs are calculated according to department ID.
- The values in the total results and the counter values of the MEAP device may not correspond. See Related Article 60681 and Related Article 60660 for limitations in tracking jobs.
- Received fax jobs, report jobs (ex. Activity reports), and output not managed with a department ID or user name is always calculated as 'Other'.
- When calculating scan jobs, pages are counted regardless of whether the sending process or storing process was successful or not.
Resetting the Total Results:
You can reset the total results by clicking the [Reset Total Results] button. The date you reset the total results becomes the starting date for the next time you calculate the total results.
Setting a Scheduled Total:
You can calculate the total results from the last time you reset the total results to the specified date. The scheduled total results can be displayed and exported (as described above) at any time until the next total is calculated. You can also use the [Reset Total Results] option to automatically reset the total results and therefore regularly calculate totals for a specified period.
1. Click the [Scheduled Total Settings] button to set this function.
2. Check on the [Schedule Total] option.
3. Set the interval to automatically calculate the totals (daily, weekly, or monthly), the day/date and time to perform the calculation, and whether or not to automatically reset the total results at this time as well.
4. Click OK.
- If the MEAP device is powered off at the scheduled time, the scheduled total will be performed when the device is powered back on.
- If you change the [Date/Time Settings] on the MEAP device after setting a scheduled total, you must restart the MEAP device.
- If the scheduled date is set for a value (ex. 29, 30, 31) that does not exist on a particular month (ex. February), the scheduled total will be performed on the last day of that month.
Clearing the Scheduled Total Results:
You can clear the scheduled total results by clicking the [Clear Scheduled Total Results] button. Total results which have been cleared cannot be displayed or exported.
Data Collecting Application:
You can perform most of these same functions from the Data Collecting Application. You cannot directly display the total results in the Data Collecting Application, but you can collect the total results, storing them as CSV files. 14 CSV files are created for each selected MEAP device when the [Collecting Total Results] option is used.
The advantage of using the Data Collecting Application is that you can perform these functions on multiple MEAP devices at the same time. |
