Canon IRA6075 Exit Jams Code 0213

    Hi All,

I have a 6075 out in the field. Its started giving jams at exit. Jam code 0213 Stationary jams at PS36.
On doing a single or double sided copy, I found that intermittently the exit rollers would stop and start whilst the paper is travelling through them.
    Thus throwing up this jam.
I have cleaned the bushings and shafts that relate to the exit and have cleaned out the one way bearing.
Looking at the drive with the side panel of you can see the drive stopping and starting as well.
I removed and reconnected all connectors on the driver pcb.
I couldn't get more that 20 copies through it without it jamming and sometimes cant get 1 out..
Any help would be much appreciated.

Check to see if there is a sensor after leaving fuser. I know the 8105 has one. You get to it by taking finisher off, and left panel at exit. easy to get to from there. Never gets cleaned because that panel never gets taken off.

The 0213 and 0113 was covered in a Canon bulletin and 2 items were indicated as an issue:

    1. The easy part is to replace the brass bushings in the delivery door ( the one with the sep claws) with bearings, they were know to gum up (xg9-0709-000 x2)
    2. The nasty part is to replace the delivery reverse drive unit. It is hidden deep in the rear right corner. I have done this several times and it is best done with 2 people, 1 needs to hold the controller cage out of the way while the other changes the unit. The new assembly has bearings instead of bushings.FM3-5138-010

All 6000 and 8000's were targeted along with some of the 6200 and 8200's.

The exit sensor PS36 is clean also the fuser sensors are clean and all sensor arms return fast and smooth.
Was looking at the delivery motor assembly and was thinking it looks a bit of a pain to change.
Has any one had this problem where the motor assembly would stop and restart during feeding paper through the exit rollers and then throwing up this jam.

    Hi Etech50
Im not sure if it is due to strain on the motor, because when it is running and can get a copy through it, if you put quite a bit of strain on the exit rollers it still passes a copy.
How long to change this drive assembly for the first time.

I would go as a first call and budget 2 hours, don't try to rush. The drive gets gummed up bushings and only shows an issue when doing face down, it runs just a bit slow and the timing goes off. I've seen machines with as few as 300K do it and some never do. Just replacing the bushings in the delivery door sometimes will get rid of the problem. If it persists, then the reversal drive needs to be changed.

You say it only does it when doing face down copies, the trouble i'm having is when doing face up as well.
The bushings on the door are clean. Do the bushings in the delivery drive unit get gummed up as well.

The external delivery unit has a long life. I would change it around 3 million.

The info I have for 0213 also shows that all paper paths can be affected.

M13 drives the outer delivery roller (in the outer paper delivery assembly) and the outer delivery front roller (shaft in the reverse paper delivery assembly) via the reverse delivery drive assembly.

The bushings in the reverse paper delivery assembly should be changed for bearings no matter how good they look. The drive unit needs to be changed as an assembly. The motor has never been an issue.

Delivery motor is a stepper motor. When the bushings mentioned get gummed up, the motor stalls(unlike a DC motor). Replace with the bearings as mentioned. Also on the delivery roller on the machine(not on the drawer delivery assembly)there is a one way in the gear. Shaft gets chewed up and one way slips..
