Hi Guys
We have inherited a Canon Imageprograf IPF600 Plotter. We do not maintain these machines however thought we would check to see if the following fault can be easily rectified before we move on to 3rd party.
Switch on and sits setting up for around 5 to 10 minutes stating cleaning then finally comes up with EJECT DETECT ERROR!! switch off then on. Anyone have any ideas on this. Did not see an error code but if someone recognises this message and there should be a code please let me know and l will re-check. If not worth repairing will end up as another ships anchor. (We love HP!!!)

Usually that error is accompanied by a 03800500-2F2F or 2F30 hardware error. Your main culprit is likely the Head Management Sensor.

Check for ink buildup or paper dust debris blocking the sensor. If debris is not the issue, then the EASY fix is the sensor (Part # QM3-0529-000)

It's also possible the the print heads are shot... if that's the case, it'll be expensive to fix.

That's brilliant. Will have a look. Hasn't been used for ages so could be build up of dust etc. Appreciate the help. Always good to have a starting point.

If it hasn't been used in ages the print heads are as hard as a rock, and will probably need replacement. Ink based systems have to be used regularly to prevent them from drying up. =^..^=

It was 03800500-2F2F error. Hasn't been used for over a Year. So looks like you guys are correct. Set of new print heads and then no guarantee something else isn't faulty.
