Canon C 2225 Blurred Color Prints and Copies

I have a Canon C2225 with blurred print. The drums are in good shape. I would think it is the Transfer Belt. The belt has 187K on it, also is there a procedure to calibrate it upon installing it? And how do you get in the service mode. I am a Ricoh guy and dont work on these very often.

Thanks for any help or suggestions

If it is color it may be the color registration. Run the auto color calibrate in the user settings. If it is black it may need a black drum. The drums go bad from 50-125% Usually there is repeat image or background when the black drum goes bad. I think test page 6 should show you if your registration is ok.

I ran it but it did not complete. I let it run for approx 20 minuites. Does it usually take that long?

    COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > in Level 2

Perform a REG-CLR in Service Mode, and then run a Auto Correct Color Mismatch & Full Auto gradation may correct the Color Registration issue.

Stop the copy when image is on the ITB assy and if all colors are misaligned, replace the ITB assy.
    Part number is FM3-8240-000.
If an individual color is misaligned replace that individual color drum assy to resolve.

I had this problem once before. Clean the patch sensors. There is a spring loaded shutter just below the transfer belt assembly

Is that on the Right side of the machine below the fusing unit?

Yes. The mylar that covers the transfer belt pulls down and the shutter is on there. I think they're just little white patches that you can see when you slide the shutter to the right. I would blow out that whole shutter area

You can carefully clean the sensors with a cotton swab or tiny peace of soft cloth...
