Red Tint on Background on Canon IRA C5045

    Hi Guys,
I still have red tint on the background on the copies/prints on a Canon IRA 5045...I swapped out the magenta developer and drum and same problem.
I am going to try swapping out the whole processing unit...Does anyone think this will fix it?
    Thank you
    Doug

I don't believe it is the xfer cleaner as K prints are fine. Are the drum and dev new or used? New drums are better as a kept used drum can be fogged, and using used devs can cause print q problems and errors. Did the magenta background change at all after switching the parts, or look exactly the same?

The prints actually got worse...more red tint. How about cleaning the laser? And how do you do that?
    Thank you so much,
    Doug

A dirty laser does the opposite, causes void lines in the feed direction. Try swapping the yellow drum with the magenta and see if the magenta background stays, or becomes yellow. If the fault follows the drum, then there you are, if not I would try a fresh magenta dev. Those are the two main components for background on prints.
