ImagePress C1+ watermark question

What is recommended software for printing on imagePress C1+? Client needs specifically metallic watermarking documents, can't seem to do it with preinstalled Canon Color Wise Pro Tools. Basically, needs software to maximally utilze the C1+. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Secure Watermark -A1
Secure Watermark Kit-A1 (Canon Sales item # 1082B002AA) is activated with a license key via the LMS system, similar to Universal Send kits.

This enables the user to embed hidden text within the backgrounds of the documents and the hidden text only appears when copies are copied. This prevents security leaks cause by unauthorized copying of confidential information. The secure watermark feature can be used with one of the following settings: Watermark, Date, Copy Set Numbering, Serial Number, or Dept ID.

This feature can be used for both copying and printing through the Canon print driver. For copying, select the Secure Watermark option from Special Features section.

Can I import a logo into the PCL driver so I can use my company logo as a watermark ?

Answer :

No, you cannot import a graphic into the driver to use as a watermark.

---However, you can create your own text watermarks with other options.


How To Create Your Own Watermark:
1. From within the applications, select File, Print.
2. Choose Setup or Properties.
3. Select the Watermark box and choose Edit Watermark as shown below.


4. Select the options you would like for the watermark and choose OK. These watermarks are created and saved within the driver.

What is 'Forced Secure Watermark Mode'?

Answer :

The 'Forced Secure Watermark Mode' enables you to set the machine to always print the specified hidden watermark on print jobs, mail box jobs, and/or copies.

Note: The 'Forced Secure Watermark Mode' can only be set if the optional Secure Watermark Kit is activated.

1. Press the 'Additional Functions' button.

2. Select [System Settings] and scroll down.

3. Select [Forced Secure Watermark Mode].

4. Press [Set] for the desired function(s) (Print, Mailbox, Copy).

5. Select the type of secure watermark to embed (Watermark, Date, Copy Set Numbering, Serial Number, or ID/User Name).

- If you Select [Watermark] > Select a Preset watermark > Press [Next]. If you select [Watermark] > [Create] > Press [Enter] > Enter the desired text > Press [OK] > Press [OK] > Press [Next]. If you have registered characters in 'Register Characters for Page No./Watermark' in Common Settings (from the Additional Functions screen), you can select the characters from the list.

- If you select [Date] > Select the date format > Press [Next].

- If you select [Copy Set Numbering] > Enter the starting number using 0-9 numeric keys > press [Next].

- If you select [Serial Number] > Press [Next].

- If you select [ID/User Name] > Press [Next]. Note that the ID or User Name of the user printing the document is printed. The watermark 'COPY' is printed if a login service is not set.

6. Select the background pattern > Select the size and color of the text > Press [OK].

Note: To print pattern on the background of copy, select the background pattern from the background Pattern drop-down list. You can select [Small] (36 pt.), [Medium] (54 pt.), or [Large] (72 pt.) for the size of the text. To print characters vertically across the page, press [Print Characters Vertically]. To use white letters on a colored background, press [White Letters on Colored Background].

What are the available Clear Coat Toner driver options for the imagePRESS Server T1 ? Answer : Clear Coat Specify how to apply clear toner. Off: Do not use this feature. Full Printable Area: Apply clear toner to the entire printable area. Create Master: Register the form image(s) to be applied clear toner in the copier as a 'Master' Use Master (Watermark): Apply the top page of clear form images of the 'Master' registered in the copier to all pages. Use Master (Highlighting): Apply the each page of clear form images of the 'Master' registered in the copier to the corresponding page. Clear Coat Form Name This field is used for registering the name of the file with clear form images as a 'Master' in the copier. It is also used for typing the registered name of the file when conducting clear toner printing by User Master (Watermark) or Use Master (Highlighting).
