    Canon iR3100 - E000070-0002

This error code pops up, when the machine is warming up. Restart it does not help.
I can't find the error code in the service manual, any clues?

    TIA

This is an ITB home position error. Most likely the white patch on the belt is dirty, take the ITB unit out, clean the white patch & sensor most likely this will resolve your issue.

    Error Codes > Canon > iRC3100 > Code E070-0002

Cleaning the belt and sensor cured it for ~5 months.. Now it's doing the same again. But this time the belt looks loose in one side, while fine in the other. Like a tensioner had failed.
I don't wanna spend more time on that crap. Got it for free, and have used most of the consumables anyway.

I'll find another used copier. But the big question, what to go for? Another Canon? Or maybe Gestetner, Ricoh, Kyocera, Konica-Minolta, etc. In the local used-marked, there's a lot to choose from.

Yes the plastic tension arms used to break all the time, they were modified in the end.

But I agree not worth speeding time of this old model, it was a diabolical model even from new.

Depending on your budget the Canon IRAC3380 series is a good machine or if you can afford it go for a Konica Minolta C224e series

Is C220 the "same series" as C224?
This seems to be the pricebracket for used machines in Denmark. (Roughly devide by 10 to get the price in £) Brugte Konica-Minolta Kopimaskiner

Does it seem as fair prices? Most of them are with the "large" finisher.
