Installed an Adv4225 yesterday, it was working fine. After about 5 hours customer called to say it won't print anymore and on the computer it says the copier is offline? Copy functions seem fine. Any ideas before we head out there?

If there are no major problems, the copier is set to dhcp and has acquired a different ip than the user has on the driver.
Practice makes perfect
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
A picture is worth a thousand words
If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself
Try with new utp cable.
Set energy settings on copier.
Can you ping the printer?
Maybe IP conflict?
You can always connect printer directly to laptop to isolate network issue.

I've seen this one hundreds of times. Go to your "Printer Properties", click on the "Ports" tab and then "Configure Port".
Uncheck the "SNMP Status" box, and your issue will go away. For some reason if that's checked, and the computer and copier lose communication, the only way to reconnect is to reboot both devices. Unchecking that box, the machine will reconnect the next time a print job is sent.
Like I said... I've seen it hundreds of times. I've seen it across different brands too!
They are printing now, plugged it into another port on their router. Emergency is solved, however there is something else I'm not sure about. At the bottom left hand corner of the display screen, there is a little lock symbol that I haven't seen before. Does someone know what that is?
