iRAC 5235i error code E020-0x91

Hi,

I have a canon iRAC 5235i which is showing E020-0x91, there doesn't seem to be any toner on any of the dev rollers, toner bottles have toner in them ATR shutter is working and sensors are clean. Ref values are very low so machine knows there is no toner in the dev units, drums are turning but cannot see if the devs are turning. Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

Take out the developers and manually rotate them to see if there is toner/starter in them. It's odd that all 4 would have a problem or be empty.

Was the machine running previously or is it a new install?

Blank copes or is it throwing the code before it prints?

The machine has been running for a couple of years, it will print 1 page then throws the error code, the print that comes out is very feint.

it seems there is no toner in any of the dev units, just starter. all the dev rollers are black. it seems no toner is being added to all the dev units. i cant make this one out!

I've never seen that problem before, but I believe the drum driver pcb controls developing motors and toner supply clutches. At least it does in the c5035 series. I would start there.

Ok thanks, I have ordered a drum driver PCB and will go from there.

I would suggest that you check the HVT. Have seen a similar issue on transport damaged machines. Black looking developer but with toner and dev all over the prints
