Canon C5250 Double Sided Scanner Copy Scan Issue

    Hi Guys

1 . IRC5250 when copying from ADF, works fine in Land Scape position but if full length A4 Potriat is placed in ADF the copy wont come complete, half of the portion from the top will be cut/missing complete blank

2 . Same thing happens if i try to scan from ADF it is half cut and misslaced

2 . Copy/scan from Flat Glass are all ok

3 . THe machine goes to rest too soon, if i try to print from MS word or Picture, the computer frezzes till the machine comes online and starts printing

    Feedback would be greatly appreciated

run STRD-POS in service mode under copier-function-install-STRD-POS

    Both SENS-CNF and MODEL-SZ are set to 1 ?

Re: Canon C5250 Double Sided Scanner Copy Scan Issue

    Problem :

When scanning to file or email the machine would rotate images 180 degrees with LTRR documents. The issue did not happen all the time. There would sometimes be one image out of a stack of a hundred that this would happen. The scan job was set to PDF compact, and OCR (text searchable) turned on. If the machine was used to copy, the issue would not happen. This issue was mainly seen with LTRR documents scanned using the DADF.

    Solution :

The issue was resolved by turning off OCR (text searchable) for this particular scan job. All documents were being fed LTRR direction through the DADF. It was not noticed at first but a hand written document was also inside some of the stacks being scanned. Since the document was hand written it created an issue with OCR (text searchable) turned on. When it is turned on it is looking for text not anything that is hand written. Once OCR (searchable text) was turned off the issue did not happen.

the machine thinks you have A4 placed in the ADF, even when you have A4R there - on the ADF input tray there are sensors to detect A4R, A3, etc - if those sensors aren't working the machine will default to A4

these are photo-interrupter type sensors, if they're full of dust they won't work and the machine will default scan A4

clean them, go into service mode and check they're working correctly - if not working replace the relevant sensor

3: are you using downloaded Canon drivers? or generic Windows drivers? the generic Windows drivers suck and cause heaps of problems as well as not providing ALL the machine functions - go to the Canon website and download the correct driver for the operating system
