you likely have a dead HDD, the firmware (machine operating system) is loaded on the HDD - take the HDD out, plug it into a computer as a slave drive and see if you can ghost it onto a new drive

the new drive MUST be the same make, model & capacity

    Hi,

I have checked the other threats in the forum and found one related to the issue i am facing

    canon ir5020i e602-003 no Harddisk

i tried the method mentioned by "teckat" and waited for more than 13 hours but the operation didnot complete and struck at one point over the night. so i switched off the machine and switched on again after some time to start the process, however machine booted fine and taken some copies. i will be doing the disk check again see what will happen.
