IPF6300s multi-sensor troubleshooting

Hi and first of all let me thank you for all the knowledge I was able to acquire here!

That said... I'm trying to revive a 2nd hand canon IPF 6300s which apparently has problems with its multi-sensor.

If I try to load paper (manual A4) the sheet gets loaded but no lights from the multisensor (error 200C: Roll paper leading edge detection error).

If I try to recalibrate it, I get a 2F32 (faulty multi-sensor); I tried to replace (with new ones) the multi-sensor and its cable with no effect: still no red (or blue) light from the multisensor at printer power-up or while loading paper (cover open with sensor closed so I could look; and yes, in a very dark environment to prevent external light from messing up with the sensor).

Premise: the printer probably had faulty heads as I remember last time paper was loaded I heard a "bump" (like the soundy flash of a photo boot when you take a photo for your ID) and saw an instantly bright light.

Can you please help in trying to troubleshoot where the problem is and fix it?

My knowledge is based on the iPF-785, but some it may be applicable:

On the 785 it is necessary to do the gap adjustment and optical axis adjustment. Did you do these adjustments?

Usually if you have a multisensor issue, when you do the gap adjustment it immediately goes into a 03130031-260E error. You can do an Optical Sensor Output, but the manual does not get very specific about the meaning of the output values. So I started logging the values into a spreadsheet to identify which values are indicators to watch. Output 2, items 11 & 13 seem to indicate a bad sensor ... I'll attach the document, just keep in mind that the data is collected on the iPF-785 =^..^=

I tried the gap adjustment as suggested in other posts but after starting it stops with a multi-sensor error and still no lights. As the light don't blink at power up I think the problem lies elsewhere: how can the calibration can be done with no lights coming out from the sensor?

Sorry, I don't have the iPF6300 manual to browse through, but every other manual I have shows OPT SENS OUTPUT in Service Mode > FUNCTION > OPT SENS OUTPUT > YES. I would be very surprised if it was different on the iPF6300. Did you look at the document that I attached? =^..^=

There are six outputs including output0.

From what I see #17 GAP 2 outside light output is not within desired limits. I'd replace the multisensor and multisensor reference, then do the gap adjustment and optical axis adjustment. =^..^=

I have other multi-sensors to replace with and check what the error codes will be but what about the fact that any of them is emitting light (even after replaceing the cable)?

So should I replace the sensor, run the gap adjustment and post again the sensor outputs?
