I'll do that at once. Running the gap adjustment before remove this sensor and will do the same afte replacing it.
If there's a faster way to collect the outputs (L printer tool, web interface or other) please let me know,

I bought cable+multi-sensor online from iteminc.com . The cable came in i a plastic bag with canon label, PN etc.
the muti-sensor was in a small generic paper box.

But the fact that previous sensor blew up in a flash and any is emitting any lights makes me fear the problem is elsewhere...
There certainly are other components involved. The multisensor connects via a ribbon cable to the carriage PWB. Then there's the trailing cable connecting to the controller PWB, and the controller itself. And the power supply.
You have as decision to make. How much money are you going to put into this machine? Where to stop?
From what you've described, you'll need another new multisensor and whatever additional parts that you'd like to try next. =^..^=

Hi, the ribbon has been replaced too (that's the second item in the list).
as per the money: I have a second IPF 6300s which arrived in very bad conditions because of bad packaging which I bought for 30€ (the shipping has been refunded and that costed me less than the multi-sensor I ordered from the US) and which had the exact same problem. I removed the carriage in order to replace the multi-sensor cable and haven't been able to properly re-install the carriage group so now it is there for spare parts...
Lesson learned: don't touch the carriage which I didn't do on the second one even if replacing the multi-sensor cable was quite a pain
Problem is: how to verify if parts are defective or not? I have a multi-meter and I'm not afraid of using it. What seems to be quite complicated is to re-assemble some parts after disassembling them which is why I wrote here before taking any further action
That said: I also bought an IPF 6400 for 200€ which had printed only 52square meters but did its last print in may 2017 (I wanted to kill the guy, the printer itself is nearly mint: if only they used it once in a while...) but I'm waiting for a replacement head because the old ones of course have been sitting for too long with catastrophic consequences.
The idea is to keep the 6400 and to sell/offer the 6300s if I can make both of them work but I'm running quite off-topic for this thread..

How can I at least check which parts are working correctly? That would allow me to dismount all the printer and sell its working pieces.

ok, so I assume the conclusion is that Canon's printers have a life-cycle spanning only as long as their warranty then it's jjust good maintenance and luck
Machines like this can turn into a money pit in a hurry. Several different components can give the same errors. This is one of the more frustrating aspects of iPF's.
Since you have spare parts and time, there is no reason that you cannot start swapping in first the carriage and trailing cable. With practice it can be done in an hour, but count on two hours the first time. Clearly you'll need another multisensor.
I tell this to all my iPF customers: Ink based devices must be run. If you leave it unused the printheads will dry up, guaranteed.
