Canon IR 1600 - job log full

I have a customer who cannot print to his IR 1600, it has been working fine for 2 years. On investigation the only thing i can find, is that that on pressing the System key it states job log is full. I tried what i could to clear it but have been unable to do so. Also it appears they may have put a system manager password on that they have promptly forgotten.
How do i clear these faults?
    All help greatly received.

Why does the iR1600 / 2000 print out a" Job Log Error Report" when I send a Print Job over the Network ? This only occurs when the Multifeeder is selected as the paper source.

    Answer :
When sending a Print Job over the Network, the Multifeeder settings on the copier need to be set first. Install paper in the Multifeeder and set the Multifeeder Paper Size on the Control Panel.
The copier will now be ready to accept the Print Job over the Network without printing out a "Job Log Error Report".

Then to clear the system password you have to go into service mode and do a pwd clear.
