    Canon IR4570 making terrible noise

I went out to work on a Canon IR4570 because of a noise the customer was hearing. I went there and ran over 1000 pages and never heard even a hint of a noise. I told them that if they heard the noise again to try and record it and send me the video. Now 3 days later it has made the noise again as you can hear in the video.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!!

Please advise to what you think is causing this noise and I will try and see if I can figure out how to include this video!
    Thanks!!

here is a link to the video of the noise it’s making. Sounds like it’s coming from the back or lower right side from the video....

Check the usual suspects.... Drum, Developer, Fuser.... but you might also want to check the registration roller in the right side. There's that little "leaf spring" toward the front of the machine screwed to the plate, that touches the roller shaft... and those can make noise as well if they're not in the right position.

It doesn’t make the noise all the time, as a matter of fact it can go days without making that noise.

also the customer said that it makes the noise AFTER they have finished making their copies and are walking away. Then suddenly the machine starts making that noise and then stops not to be heard again for a day or so.

the drum has about 20k, the fuser has about 35k and the total machine has about 450,000 on it.

i checked all the normal moving parts but since I CND the noise I was never able to pin point it. This video that my customer made and text me is the only time I have heard it also

I might go into service mode and turn on motors to see if that could pinpoint where the sound is coming from

Then it could be the toner hopper when it’s adding toner. Run motor 5 in service mode and do a toner-s and see if it makes the noise

I'm with guitar on this one. It's common to have the registration roller ground make noise. Lubricate it with conductive grease.

Also re-prime the drum blade. If your enduser does very low fill images the drum blade can be starved for toner which acts as a lubricant for the drum blade. Priming the blade will quiet it down temporarily. The recording reminds me of this sound right here.

The recording was a really good idea, when you can't be there to hear it yourself. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
