IR3245 Fax

Customer has a fax and a 2nd/3rd line kit installed. Only line 1 is used. Fax only works with on hook. When using line 1 there's no dial tone and fax goes right into re-dial. No attempt to dial number. If I plug the fax line into line 2 or 3, copier sounds like it's dialing but no dial tone and no transmission. Customer does have a DID phone system with an analog card that I assume is supposed to supply an analog line for the fax but I don't know enough about telephone systems to be sure. I have removed 2nd/3rd kit and changed line 1 kit but no change. Any thoughts? Maybe not compatible with the phone system?

These machines only work with a dedicated phone line, not on phone systems.

It does work but only with the on hook button

I would run a CLEAR ALL on the fax and update the firmware. After that get another board. Running a credit card machine off the Phone port is another WRONG move. workx or not its NOT supported.

Did the clear all and replaced the board. Didn’t update firmware

You could check if " Check Dial Tone Before Sending" is turned on under Additional Functions > Communication Settings > Tx Settings > Fax Settings. Make sure it is OFF.
