iRA C2220i - Jam on tray 2 while printing on tray 1 - (Jam 0A02)

Hello fellow techs !

I'm having troubles figuring out a weird jam that started to happening recently mainly on iR Adv C2000i series, but also on 2 iR Adv C5030i.
Sometimes when printing from tray 1, it pick paper in the tray 2 and bloc half-way without reason with the jam code 0A02.

Test I already did :

1. Tray 2 open for days : everything is working fine
2. Print from tray 2 to see if it still jam : works flawlessly
3. Replace the solenoid on paper pick up assembly on tray 2 : 0A02 still happen

Also, it jams on tray 2 no matter what ther paper format is in tray 2 (A3 & A4).
The rollers are fine & brand new.

It doesn't jam frequently, maybe 1 time out of 100-200 prints but it really annoy our customers... and me !

Some help would be appreciate on this !

Thank you for your answer, but i already cleaned it, tried with some from other working printer and still got the jam


Phil, you're not cool man. If I come up here asking for help, it mean that i'm stuck with this.. tech or not. Did you never got stuck and ask for help or seeked on internet for something ?

I forgot to mention it, but the jam happen when copying too, without being connected to the network, so that take away network related trouble. Happen at multiple place, with different customer, no file problem

So far :

6. Everything is working fine when printing only from tray 1 (tray 2 open)

8. Format of paper on tray 2 doesn't matter (A4 or A3)

Since yesterday, I changed the paper pick up assembly (took 1 from a printer working so far, nothing suspicious in the jam log) and got a jam again this morning. That assembly may have the same problem, but it was working before

So, check cable cable from pick up assembly to DC controller or event replace DC controller is last solution
