IR ADV C5250 New Drom doesnt fit

I Tried to install two new GPR 30 drums in ImageRunner ADV C 5250 copier And they will not fit into the drum cavity. Looking at the ends of the drum they are actually designed differently. Any ideas? I thought about rebuilding the old one with the parts of the new drum but it appears they’ve been factory built so I’m not even sure that’s an option. The customer is on a time crunch so I appreciate any advice I can get . Thanks

The black drum is different to the colour, which drum are you replacing?

You can simply 'snip off' the rear plastic stopper to make it fit.

The parts vendor said they were all the same drum. I took his word for it even though most the time the black drum is different. This is for the color. But I did pull out the black drum to look and I didn’t see any difference in that one or the other ones. I very possibly could have Overlooked something. I should’ve tried and see if it fit as a black drum. But I will go back and look at that thanks.

clip the two tabs off the rear of the unit and it will drop right in

Yes I went back to the site and it was staring me in the face. I have no idea why I didn’t see it the first time. I think I just assumed the parts vender knew what he was talking about when he said they’re all the same drum. That really made me feel stupid. I should’ve known better. But problem solved. I clipped off the stopper and working like a charm. Thanks for your help

The black drums are cheaper than colour so most companies only stock the black & modify them as you did.
