when you say 'ink' you mean dry black powder (toner) right?

is the toner spilled out on the inside of the machine?

are you using Canon OEM toner or compat?

Is the toner bottle in the machine empty? If not you need to replace the hopper. Common problem

There is no toner in the bottle, but there full toner in the developping assembly.
I don't know why it display that message

Did you try putting a new toner bottle in? The machine will go into add toner when the developer calls for toner and the hopper is empty. This is basic copiers 101.
