Is it because the mc throws the error code straight away...?

Bad or dirty sensor may be your culprit in that case...if it throws the code right off

If it's throwing the code right away, you have either repositioned the belt improperly by moving it to much to the rear or the front (been there done that) or the sensor is dirty or the floating arm that triggers the sensor is not moving properly. The real fix for this common issue for me has usually been cleaning or replacing the rollers under the ITB belt.

You might check the mylars along the belt and make sure they are in the correct over/under position, and that the home position actuator arm is along the edge of the belt and not underneath it (I tucked that actuator under once, couldnt figure out why it continued to E075... oops)

I once tie-wraped it in to position just so we could keep printing (new printer was on it's way, didn't want to spend a penny anymore on the old one).

Would not advice the macguyver-solution... Belt was fubar in 4 day, just when the new printer came in...

There is a sensor at the front of the belt that figures out where it is relative to the middle. Check and see if the belt isn't on top of that...a lot of the time when I reassemble these belts, I accidentally have the belt pop over the sensor instead of riding on it.

    Easy to do.
