Imagerunner Advance 4245 and 4025 not printing from thumb drives

I saw both of these machines the other day and I can scan to the thumb drive but
the print ICON on the panel does not highlight. Both of these machines were purchased
used and did not come with the manuals. I did look through the service modes but nothing
jumped out that would apply. I am looking through the service manuals today.
I forgot what the default password is to log in and check those settings.
I am looking for the user manuals today also.

The username and password should be default of 7654321. To print from thumb drive file needs to be I believe PDF or JPEG

To print documents in the PDF format from USB memory, the Direct Print Kit (for PDF/XPS) is required.

Printing from memory media

Supported memory media:
USB memory key, Memory cards (SD, Compact Flash and Memory Stick via optional MULTIMEDIA READER/WRITER-A2)
Supported file types for direct printing including printing from RemoteUI, Advanced Space and Web Access:
JPEG, TIFF, PDF*, XPS*

*Requires PS PRINTER KIT-AY1 for PDF, or DIRECT PRINT KIT (FOR PDF/XPS)-H1 for PDF/XPS. XPS direct print from removable media is not available.

Well, Thank you everyone for all the information. The file I scanned onto my thumb drive from the 4245 is a pdf file.
Teckat, that is the screen I am on and I have highlighted the file but the print ICON does not highlight for selection.
I think I need to determine if it has that or those print kits installed. I believe that would display in the "Display" section of the service
mode under the firmware installed correct?

Thanks everyone for helping me with this customer request. After a year of having the machine I guess they started to look at
features that could be available, maybe it just needs to be switched on with a firmware download. Am I over the target?

Thank you for that info, I just need to determine if it is installed already. A lot of the machines in the warehouse
come with just about everything. May be this is one of those items not installed.

Hit counter key (hard key), then hit device configuration key when the screen displays counter info. Scrolling through will show what options have been installed.

Here is what is listed under options:

DADF-AG1 Doc feeder

cassette AF1

inner finisher tray D1

inner 2way tray H1

Super G3 fax AP1

OCR text searchable PDF/XML

00XML Not sure what this is.

Application ID - ae53008a-aa81-4aae-95c7-746-db532-c88 Not sure of this application either.

Then it shows the license expiration date. It is blank.

It appears to me that if it was onboard this machine, it may have expired? The customer claims they were using it about 10 days ago.

The 4025 options ends with the fax AK1.

I did not see anything about the "Direct Print kit" in either listing.

I did do a "p-print" on both machines if there would be any clues in those reports.
