If youmean the "smearing" of toner, yes; the problem was LFR bearings.

    Re: Canon IR5070 E004-010

    Hi guys,

I know this thread is about to turn 4 years old but I just received this code on a IR C7065 and I've been doing a massive amount of research on it. Just like the original poster, I'm not a regular Canon tech but I've been around copiers for quite some time.

I originally had the error code E008-0001 on this machine and after replacing the gear (FU8-0012-000) and the bearings (XG9-0521-000) and clearing the code from the service mode, it was fixed. After a few days, the machine gave the E004-0101 code. After a few days of digging in the machine again, I saw that the halogen heater's (lamp) (FK2-7883-000) connectors were snapped on both ends and barely making any contact. It seems like, if the wires on each end are not routed/tucked properly, the gears snag at them causing it to tear. I replaced the lamp and now the machine is up and running again.

I hope this helps any one losing their mind on this error code.

    Thanks.
