As some may suggest, try holding down 1&9 on boot up or try reloading firmware with service support tool. If that don't work replace HDD with new one and reload firmware. If you get the new type HDD make sure you format it with the v15 format data file then reload, system, language and rui.

    Screwtape.

Since you are not a Canon tech, your best bet is to find one. It is your time/money but you are going to spend a lot of time trying to get the right "stuff" and then getting the right system software loaded. As you can tell from the responses, there is more than one correct way to resolve the problem - BUT many more ways to screw it up.

Have not head of anyone actually selling the right HD with the proper system software preloaded (many variables to consider). Even if you do find a preloaded HD, next step would be figuing out where/how to swap the HD in/out.

Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, a qualified tech would be your quickest and possibly cheapest (your time is not free) way to go.
