    Smile Service Navigator (NAVI)

    Service Navigator (NAVI)
NAVI Is a Canon Inc. tool designed to be installed on Service Engineers laptops. NAVI's aim is to provide relevant assistance to Service Engineers / Specialists whilst servicing and diagnosing faults.

The application consists of 2 main components.
⇒ Service Navigator o This is the core application used to provide access to information from a number of installed resources and can be used to create reports on machine service data.
⇒ Data Utility o This utility is used to manage information installed within the Service Navigator application. The utility is used to install 'data packs' necessary for the operation of the Service Navigator application. Service Navigator and the Data Utility are combined to create NAVI (used hereafter to describe both applications).

NAVI is made up from 3 types of data packs:
⇒ Main: Contains the relevant information for the core product
⇒ Option: Contains Information relevant to the device peripherals
⇒ Case: Contains field based resolutions along with SM FAQ's

NAVI is a computer-based program intended to serve as a resource / diagnostic tool for Canon trained Engineers, country experts (help desk for example) or Product Support Specialists equipped with laptops.
    NAVI functionality includes:
⇒ Troubleshooting ‘Case’ data available based on engine status when connected to the MFD or searchable in off-line mode
⇒ Service Mode access via the computer with auto reset feature (return to initial values)
⇒ Adjustable Error and Jam Threshold monitoring
⇒ Access to model servicing information (work procedures, electro-mechanical component references)
    ⇒ Engine Reporting Capability
⇒ Links to other Canon Service Tools such as Service Support Tool and PDL Downloader
⇒ Browser based (HTML)Parts Viewing It is envisaged that the most used NAVI function, that will give the most benefit, will be the 'troubleshooting' section.
The 'troubleshooting' option contains field based information (escalations) which have been submitted to and resolved by CINC from all Sales Regions (including pre launch experience) which could prove invaluable in resolving field problems early on in a products lifecycle.

I have a NAVI v2.20 and some modules. Want to try?
I use the NAVI with CBT and SST result is excellent!

If you are referring to a log in password, NO its not require.
You can alter the app to log in without any password.

thanks screwtape . I think SST and NAVI are subjects to be avoided unless you want your message box full.

Sounds like you are "taking one for the team" , , by getting your personal mailbox stuffed with requests for software. At least someone has learned how to utilyze personal messaging instead of out in the forum.
