    IRC 3200 bootroms

    Hi,
    I have IRC 3200 with c1 colorpass .
Im unable to configure the printer.
On inspection I found that the bootroms are of copier (which show C in the service mode).
Is there anyway to make the bootrom from C to N(i.r network copier to enable printing).

    Thanks.

See change boot rom with sst

Unless you need to convert a lot of boot roms just buy a N boot rom.

The boot rom that's in the machine is correct. It should be a C Chip. When you have this C bootrom, this is normal. When you add a canon controller printer kit then you will have to add the N chip, meaning bootrom. If you have a fiery connected the chip remains a C bootrom.

On the control panel LCD you should see a printer tab. When you hit that tab, hit printer status. If all is setup correctly, the rip should be at ilde, hit functions and look for run setup. The first step, is setting up the server settings, the next one is network settings, this is where you want to set up and configure your network protocol. Remember this when you have a imagepass connected you do print to the copier, you print to the fiery, then the fiery communicates with the copier to print out. Assure yourself that you see the printer tab in the LCD, this is very important.

Post back if you have any problems. Good luck.

screwtape's right 'bout boot rom - also if you put 'n' chip you would also have to swap i/f board out....
you need to reinstall f/w on rip.
are the cables in the right place?
    and you're using crossover?

Should the network cable connecting the fiery and the machine be cross-over cable . ?
It involves 2 ethernet cables .so should both of them be crossover cables ?

If any of u have some book/manual/pdf please send me .

    Thanks.

The crossover cable connects to the copier then to the fiery, you should see a printer icon that's embedded on the fiery right next to the port. The other port will then be for the patch cable to connect the fiery to the network. Wait a minute or two for fiery to boot up. The bootrom is correct, do not worry about that anymore, just focus on the fiery for now.
