FTP scan from iRC-4080i

I have irc 4080i I want to scan to ftp server so my quastions is :
1- how can I setup my laptop as FTP server ?
2- what I have to do on my laptop after its run as ftp ?
3- from the machine side what I have to do ?

1. If your laptop's running Windows you can use Microsoft's IIS or a 3rd party app. Google it.
2. shouldn't have to do anything once it's set up properly. If laptop is not connected into your LAN you'll probably want to set up dynamic dns on your laptop. To collect your files just go to the ftp folder on your hard drive or login to the ftp server on your computer.
3. should have to enter ftp address and username and password if any. Check the manuals for the machine. What you need to enter should be mentioned in there.

Why not use SMB instead? Turn File sharing on PC and enter details in on machine? It's much easier to set up than FTP. Why the special need for FTP?

To setup SMB. Turn File Sharing On for a folder (Turn on Windows File sharing if a mac)

Should be able to enter address into copier, check manuals for how to do it. Should be something similar to \\IPaddressOfComputer\sharename
Again enter username and password if required.
