No apologies are necessary. I got your report. Everything seems fine.
If you want you can leave everything the way it is.
Option one:
Go to network connection and change your network connections under properties.
Keep in mind if it set on "use the following ip address" and there a static ip set up already, this is your AT&T DSL 216.252.121.32. If you change this IP to 192.168.1.101, you are going to knock off your ISP thus lose your internet. You can always put it back the same way.
Option two:
Go to the start menu on you computer, hit the run button, type in CMD>type in, IPCONFIG and see what your configurations are.
IP: 216.252.121.32
SUBNET:?
GATEWAY:?
You can also call AT&T and explain your situation and have them provide you with a static IP address for your printer.
Option three:
You can go into,Additional functions, system settings>network settings>TCI/IP settings>IP address settings and change the IP address, to 216.252.121.33, you will need the subnet which is typically, 255.255.255, and the gateway just in case. After you input the configurations reboot the machine and ping the machine to make sure its communicating.
Hit Start>run>type in Ping 216.252.121.33, if you get a reply message communication has been established. Just install the print driver, which you can get from Canon usa website. Im pretty sure it going to be a UFR driver. If you get request time out you can try option one.
