Question Canon iRC2620N - replacing drums -advice needed

Hi

I bought an iRC2620N for a friend of mine - before I will send it to him ( abroad ) I want to make sure all toners and drums are more than 50 % - and printer is in working conditions ...
As I am a bit confuse about how to check and replace drums - please give an advice - and sorry for the following silly questions :

1) (check my attachment-photo1 ) can you confirm that all 4 drums has to be replaced ? - if the remaining drum life for all 4 drums is 0% - why I dont get any errors while printing ?
2) is it possible to refill / recharge - the printer drums ? like a toner cartidge ?
3) (check the attachment -photo 2,3 ) - which one is the toner cartidge and which one is the printer drum ?

Thanks
iurie

Drums are on the bottom. The usage bars simply mean they've gone beyond the count on the chip in the drum. When they get bad enough, you'll start getting E000020 codes.

Replace the drums. If you continue to use them you might be okay, but you can cause more problems if you go beyond. There are times when no error codes pop up but the toner will start to dump due to the developer becoming weak. This can cause you more problems. There are other ways to check drum life but it requires you to go into service mode which I recommend a technician to do so. Just order some drums.

I also recommend ordering a set of toners..
Best to always try to keep a full set on hand...Cyan and magenta are about 50% used up.
Rule of thumb is if you fit a new toner order another straight away...OR if there's no service agreement then wait til they're around 50% and order them.

You may also like to supply a waste toner bottle, you can empty them but its a bit messing & a bit of a hassle!
