ir3300 unable to print from computer

Hi currently im connecting ir3300 to computer using bi-directional cable and parrallel mode to ECP. After i install the driver on winxp it works.

The problem is when i connect to other ir3300 machine using same computer it cannot print and show "printer receiving" and nothing come out. Even i uninstall and reinstall back the driver same problem appear. It only can work on the 1st ir3300 machine the other ir3300 machine cannot print even i reinstall the driver. Any suggestion on this issue? Thank you

Is your 2nd iR3300 having N system? Only those having N System able to print. Check your version, make sure you have version under PS/PCL and also the BootROM (N).

      Do you have a printerboard??

One theory is that you dont have printercard.
The networkcontact is not the printerboard..
Check in counter meny config if you have pcl language..
      Good luck

If your system is not N, the the parrelle port is only for upgrading purpose.

You can't make it a N chip you need to purchase a printer kit. If you don't have a ethernet card,AKA the (NIC) card. Then you don't have a printer kit.

Yeah thanks pro, i get what you mean. if copier doesnt come with N then the parrallel port just for the upgrading purpose and must use print port for network print purpose. If the copier come with N it can be print from computer but just using the normal parrallel cable or must be connect using Bi-centronic cable?

Close,,, No ethernet port on a 3300 means it is copier only, no printing supported, parallel for upgrading only. With ethernet card AND N-bootrom AND N-version system software, the copier supports printing. Either the network or parallel may be used for printing, but the parallel port must be enabled under the printer setup. And to print to it through the parallel port requires the use of the IEEE 1284 parallel cable, not a plain printer cable. All smart parallel print devices require the use of the IEEE 1284 cable.

Getting an IR3300 printer kit can be quite cheap using eBay and it's worth it in my opinion. It makes the IR3300 so much more useful. With a N Boot-ROM, NIC (aka ethernet port) installed and firmware upgraded to network version the copier can be used with the Canon Network ScanGear tool (B&W so can't use Colour version) as well as printing. It's at least twice as useful as before.

The Canon Network ScanGear tool is freely available on the Canon website.

I got a silly question here, till now i still dont get wat is N Boot-ROM or Boot Rom that ya guys normally mentioned about. Is it a kind of firmware or hardware. In what condition that we can call it N Boot-ROM and without N Boot-ROM?

N (Networked) Boot-ROM is hardware. The C (Copier) Boot-ROM is in the IR3300 by default. You cannot print without the N Boot-ROM installed. You then need to use SST (Service Support Tool) to install networked firmware onto the copier. You can't upgrade the C Boot-ROM to N version. It has to be replaced with the N Boot Rom.

You should insert a NIC (aka ethernet port) included with the N BOOT-ROM in the Canon Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit C1.

Once the networked firmware is installed you can connect an ethernet cable and configure network settings and printing should work over your network.

I have seen a 3300 machine can copy, can print, but without network scanner feature. At service mode version shows as bootrom N. Is this machine OK? How to restore network scanner feature ?
