Irc3220, is there a way to turn up the heat on the fixing unit ?

Hi again, I just had the fixing unit on the irc3220 changed, rollers and everything..

Now when printing on some of the heavier papers(200 to 250 grams) I get a bad print, lowe quality, blacks start to mess up(like spotting, like small dots around letters or the black comes out to faint) and after a few prints of the run I just sent, the colors start to smudge, it seems like heat is missing in the unit and not fixing the tonner to the paper correctly and after a few passes the heat is being lost and the tonner just smudges and sticks to the roller, etc..(like when you choose an incorrect profile for a type of paper).. but if a choose another profile a whole bunch of other problems start to come up...

Any ideas what could help ??

thanks again !

These fuser units are not a good part to invest in. Though there are parts
for the unit its best to replace the whole unit as one.

The toner also may not fuse correctly if the media is not recommended due to specs, or if its a high density profile image the toner will blotch, bubble or smudged up.

I recommend replacing the fuser unit. Messing around with the temperature may cause more issues.

thanks for the reply Screw..

they changed everything.. the whole unit, sorry about the bad explanation...

its original canon toner.. and this didnt happened before they changed the whole thing out..

if I use another profile like label, I wont have the proble but the print will come out extremeley dark for the kind of paper..

Why don't you try doing a auto gradation in heavy mode, then use that type of media thru the bypass and select heavy2, if you haven't done so already. You are cutting it close by using 250gsm. The highest according to specs for paper handling for a 3200 is 253gsm and this must be fed thru the bypass selecting heavy2.
