iR2230 problem with install new HDD

    Hello, everybody!
I have a problem with Canon iR2230. HDD is broken.
When I try to install a new hard disk I can not format it and set up a system. (There is a mistake when formatting).
I looked through a lot of information on this business. By some messages on this forum I realised that HD formatting (.ift - file) should be changed by adding an issued HDD support.
Unfortunately this file is codified and I can not change it.
So the question is: are there any possibilities to change this file? Or, maybe, there is another way of system install? (Image of a System?) The image of old system unfortunately is missing.
    I'm using:
    SST 4.11
    Firmware v30.03
    Connecting by net

One of these harddisk's is wished to be set up:
    Fujitsu MHT2060AT 60GB
    Hitachi IC25N080ATMR04-0 80GB
    Hitachi HTS541040G9AT00 40GB

    Thank you in advance.

    Use original disk.

If you are using an original disk it will save you a lot of time.
And you could charge the customer for the disk.
There is a way that you could change the file but if you have one space to mutch or something else wrong it wont work with the original disk either..
    Time is money

Yes the format file is not modifyable (spelling). The best suggestions are,, buy a drive from canon for that model, FK2-4907-000 is the current part number for that drive. Or, google the current hard drive model number, and find someone, somewhere, that can sell you that model.

Those are the two most viable ways to resolve your problem.

    Remember

Then there is the also the right system software. Even with the right HDD, when you format and load system software - you need to use 2230HD NOT 2230 (for systems without HDD).

When you download the System SW from Canon, the file contains both versions.

He is trying to use a hard drive that is not supported by the format file for the 2230hd,, I assume he is getting the "drive not found in table" message when attempting the format.

It takes a bit of effort. Take any bigger hard drive . Take a hard drive from a working machine with same model and specs. Norton Ghost. Copy the partitions and files. Fit new harddrive in faulty machine and Bob is your uncle. It takes time but costs much less than getting a hardrive with the correct serial number

    Regards
