ir5570 image problem

I have a Canon ir 5570 that has almost blank copies. If the potential control is turned off they are completely blank and the image can be seen. It's the same on test prints and copies. I have swapped the potential control, dc controller and corona assemblies with no luck. Also, there is an alarm code of 32001 in the history that is not in the service manual. The meter is 550K. Any ideas?

Thanks

Matt

First instead of swapping coronas just replace them. Also if you are swapping potential control, make sure you swap the set, meaning the pcb that comes along with the potential control sensor.

Try doing a DPC in service mode.
What does VL1 look like in dpot?

Screwtape is right! not only the set but the cable too. this is all calibrated at the factory. You must replace all three as one unit. I have done this before. It did take care of the problem!

Check the rear of the Fixing feeder frame assembly where the Transfer/separation coro joins in.
I've had a machine with EXACTLY the same symptom that you've described and the holder for trans/sep was broken.

Well, as much as I hate to say it, you could be down to the laser, even though its not showing signs. Think I've had this before and it wasn't throwing codes and had good readings. There is also and outside chance that you have a developer problem. Make sure you have a good coat of toner on the roller. Also, back to the basics, make sure that your primary fan cover is fully seated. This engages the laser shutter. I think you get dark/black copies when it is broken/loose, but check it anyway.

I would check the block on the back of the transport bed and make sure the plastic piece the trans/sep corona plugs into isn't broken. Seen this b4

So that's 2 votes for a transfer issue

I will join that too... I have seen that transfer block broken also and copies were just about blank. However, if the block is cracked, drawer one shouldn't be able to be slid all the way in and it should have been relatively obvious that it was broken when he slid in the Transfer Corona he swapped.
